Gansey

Close up imagery of the knitted squares. The patterns are representative of the fishing community and the gansey sweaters fishermen wear. The diamonds are the nets, the diagonal lines show how you would walk down a cliff. The textured piece shows the sand. Combinations of these patterns are knitted into fishermans jumpers and were used to identify where fishermen were from when lost at sea.

This piece is constructed from twelve squares of Gansey inspired knitting. I think this could provide an alternative to constructing blankets.
